According to the CIA's website, the world population as of July 2008 is currently at 6,706,993,152 living, breathing, eating, loving people. Some might say that's a lot while others a little. Of all those how many do we know? How many do we REALLY know? We know our family, our friends, our partners in life, our co-workers and all the other people who surround us on a daily basis. But, do we really know them all?
What about that lady with the weird looking glasses on the bus? You see her every morning on your way to work/school and everytime you see her glasses you can't help but smile even when you're in a foul mood. What is it about those glasses, or the lady specifically, that makes you smile? Wouldn't you like to know?
As of late I've been surrounded by many elements that tend to point me in a common direction. Human relationships. There are some people who are reading this and are thinking that I'm some lonely individual who sank to a level where he must rely on the Internet, Craigslist, to find and possibly make a "connection" with a fellow human being. Others might think the opposite and then there's the few who are undecided. Some of you are convinced you're right and others don't even care. You'll never know until you actually find out the truth.
I'm just curious to meet a few of those 6.7 billion human beings and possibly learn and/or experience something new and interesting. I'm not expecting some witty reply or deep philosophical analysis. I'm just looking to discover more people, wherever you might be.
For the curious and those who filter the ads on craigslist, here's a little information that will ease your decision to reply or not. Unfortunately, we don't live in a colour blind world and some people just can't look beyond. I'm a 24 year old black male. I'm currently enrolled in university. I wear glasses, I eat, sleep and drink on occasion. I have an ever evolving list of interests.
I've posted numerous ads on craigslist a few times before and have managed to exchange a few emails with people but over time they just dissapear. A genuine will to exchange would be much appreciated.
