Job Description:
We are seeking a talented QA Specialist to take on the testing of our software applications. You will also participate in the entire process of creating a software application, from design through release.
As a QA Specialist, you will work at the forefront of the latest web technologies, testing both the interface and the back-end of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). We work with the following technologies: Java, Flex, spring, Hibernate, JUnit, FlexUnit.
The position involves all aspects of QA including:
- Testing both the server and the client
- Writing and running test scripts
- Logging issues and working with developers to resolve them
- Managing the QA environment including test builds, application servers and databases
Technical Skills:
„X We use an application called RiaTest for our GUI testing. This is because it was developed for the flex/flash environment unlike more popular tools (which do not support this), most people do not have this experience as of yet, however they must have strong GUI automation testing experience and willing to learn a new tool.
„X For unit testing we use jUnit and FlexUnit
„X The reason we do not use the more common tools is because they do not support testing flash interfaces very well, and our GUI is in Actionscript 3.0, flex/flash
„X The QA position involves both manual and automated testing. The QA person should actively work towards automating those all possible tests and thus reduce the amount of manual testing required.
„X Thus they should have the ability to write scripts and experience with scripting languages.
„X Release experience is not required, but if the candidates does have some, so much the better.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (eg. Perl, Python, Ruby)
- Knowledge of automated GUI testing tools
- Knowledge of SQL testing tools
- Familiar with the setup, configuration and management of application servers and databases
General criteria:
- Bachelor's Level degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- A passion for Quality Assurance
- 2+years relevant experience
- Location: Montreal
