SQA Specialist – with automation experience:
Salary 65K-75K depending on experience
Location: Montreal – downtown
Our client is a leading Software security and risk management company who’s product is sells itself and is a must have for all companies. This is a great company who is growing rapidly because of the big demand for their product! They are currently seeking an advanced QA Engineer to perform all aspects of product testing. This person will be working out of the Montreal office and working hand in hand with a QA team in the United-States. Applicants should be able to work autonomously with a remote team and interface with the software development department in Montreal to work together as a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of product testing including functional, regression, performance, usability, and acceptance testing.
- Tenacious about finding bugs, following up with the responsible team members, and ensuring that the bugs are fixed in a timely fashion.
- Write test plans and test cases from product functional specs, development design documents, or marketing product documents.
- Work closely with development and support teams to ensure total product quality
- Create and enhance test environments and test tools.
- Produce software builds for testing and release. Manage development of software installation utilities.
- Ensure quality of the official software releases.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of SQA experience with at least 1 year on commercial software products
- Working knowledge of SMTP, IMAP, POP, DNS, TCP/IP, mail servers, SPF, DoS, RBL
- Knowledge of Software Test / Quality Assurance methodologies and application of those methodologies
- Experience in testing applications on Linux and Windows platforms
- Track record of shipping high quality, market-leading products
- Experience with one of the following: NetMail, GroupWise, Exchange, Notes/Domino, SendMail, PostFix, QMail etc.
- B.Sc. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with test automation tools
- Experience with scripting language; Linux shell scripts, Python, Perl
