The Senior Database Architect/Developer works in the Software Development Department and is resposible for all aspects of the database development. Interfacing recognizes the need for a world class DBA for its world class products. The candidate must be proficient with MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
Daily Tasks
- Design RDBMS structure for scalability, maintainability, performance and robustness of multi-user server.
- Work closely with Business Analysts and the Project Manager to understand the functional and system requirements.
- Work closely with Architect Team to ensure integrity, performance, and other non-functional requirements
- Responsible for database architecture and design
- Develop and supervise development of all database related assets.
- Collaborate in development of Object-Relational mapping
- Specifically, design physical and logical database schema, write Stored Procedures, Triggers
- Design and implement maintenence plans for development and test servers.
- Transfer knowledge of and appreciation for database
- Collaborate in troubleshooting and correcting client data problems
- Create and maintain reporting structures
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent).
- Superb SQL design skills are a must, including logical design, physical design
- Superb expertise in MySQL 5.x is a must
- Superb expertise in MSSQL 2005 is a must
- Superb expertise in Oracel 9i and 10g is a asset
- Expertise in MSSQL profiling is a must.
- Expertise in MySQL profiling is a must.
- Expertise in Oracle profiling is a asset
- Good knowledge of Java/J2EE, EJB and Hibernate are an asset.
- Five or more years of coding experience in a Database software development.
- Creativity and Flexibility in approach is an assent.
- Knowledge of Business Process Modeling/Management (BPM) is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
General Skills
- Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented
- Well organized, good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines
- experience working in a java development team is an asset
