Sales Representative - Transport

Our client is one of the larger Transport and Freight Forwarding companies headquartered in Canada with a client base from various segments of the supply chain including manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, and retailers.

Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Sales Directors / Representatives is to grow his or her sales portfolio through the addition of new accounts in addition to increasing market share of existing client base to maximize yield.

„« Maximize and manage the volume, revenue and margin within the customer base in order to deliver sales results.
„« Constantly communicate with customers through personal visits, phone calls and emails.
„« Anticipate customer requirements and meet those needs in a professional and proactive manner.
„« Cultivate strong personal relationships with a broad base of management and staff in support of customer / account objectives.
„« Effectively communicate with Operations to ensure that customer needs are met or exceeded in a timely fashion.
„« Develop, implement and deliver on the determined sales plan.
„« Use the appropriate resources to nurture relationships and deliver business results.
„« Provide internal communication and support to ensure the successful delivery of results.
„« Identify new business opportunities that exist within the customer / territory base.
„« Contact, establish, cultivate and develop existing accounts.

Requirements
„« Experience in Transportation / Logistics or Freight Forwarding
„« Extensive sales experience.
„« Good understanding of the North American transportation industry including highway (domestic and cross boarder), intermodal, logistics, Customs, Freight Forwarding.
„« Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
„« Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
„« Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a team environment.
„« Strong negotiation and closing skills.
„« Willing and able to travel as required.
„« Creative, organized and self directed
„« Responsible, reliable and results driven
„« Team player
