PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

Responsible for optimization, maintaining, and troubleshooting a number of aspects of Company’s internal technological infrastructure. The infrastructure incorporates Windows servers and clients, telephony equipment, LAN and WAN technologies, and a variety of applications. Provides first & second-tier support to internal desktop support team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Respond to trouble tickets from internal clients, either resolving the issue or forwarding to second-level support.
• Install and configure new PCs for internal clients.
• Work with second-level support to create and use system staging images to ensure consistent deliverables.
• Create and maintain software packages for distribution to internal clients.
• Test and recommend operating system/application patches for implementation on internal client PCs.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize network resources such as shared data and shared print devices.
• Provide after-hours internal support on a rotating schedule.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize existing infrastructure components to ensure continued operation including, but not limited to:
o Windows servers (2000, 2003,2008)
o Windows clients (2000, XP)
o Telephony systems
o File and print services
o Directory services
o Intranet web site
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with infrastructure components to resume normal operations.
• Provide second level assistance to internally-generated trouble tickets.
• Ensure implementation of best practices for the management of the company’s infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain the security and integrity of the company’s technology-based assets.
• All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• MCSA – Windows 2000 or 2003 certification required.
• 3 years or more work experience supporting a Windows-based network in an administrative capacity.
• 1 year or more experience supporting Cisco-based networking infrastructures.
• 2 years of working knowledge of Windows-based implementations of networking technologies, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SSL.
• 3 years of working knowledge of Windows-based concepts, including Active Directory, permissions and rights, Remote Installation Services, and Group Policy Objects.
• 3 years of working knowledge of Windows-based server and desktop platforms, including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT4.0, and Windows 2003 Server.
• 1 year of working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange.
• 1 year or more experience supporting telephony infrastructures.
• Demonstrated effective inter-personal skills, preferably in a support position, for example on a helpdesk.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of basic software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator – Messaging.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator – Security.
• Unix administration knowledge considered a plus.
