Xsilva is seeking an individual with strong customer service skills and Linux technical knowledge to provide full-time hosting administration and technical support for our e-commerce solution, LightSpeed Web Store. The successful candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, works well both independently and as a member of a team, and has a keen attention to details. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Administering new and existing Web Store hosting accounts
- Tracking the setup of new hosting accounts from order to activation
- Performing hardware and software upgrades outside of normal business hours
- Monitoring availability of cluster hardware
- Ensure technical support questions via phone and e-mail are handled promptly and professionally
- Participate in off-hours infrastructure monitoring

Requirements:

- 1-2 years experience administering Linux, preferably Ubuntu and/or Debian
- Minimum 1+ year experience with configuring and troubleshooting Apache 2.0, PHP and MySQL
- Demonstrated experience with bash
- Keen eye for detail
- Good typing and multi-tasking skills
- Customer service experience
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Self-starter who also works well in a team environment

Assets:
- CSS experience
- Shell scripting and high-availability experience
- Knowledge of Mac OS X
- Fluency in French
