National Warehouse Manager
Our customer is an International Distributor of consumer products located in Montreal. With an extensive range of highly featured innovative products that are made to the highest quality of international standards and represent great value for businesses of any size, large or small.
The National Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for the long-term leadership and enhancement of the logistics operation functions on a national level, as well as identifying and implementing consistent best practices across all areas of warehouse management and operations. The successful candidate is accountable for initiating, implementing and driving continuous improvement projects in cost, quality, and on time delivery. The biggest challenge will be developing a cultural and mindset change within the department focusing on team development as well as ensuring appropriate resources and planning tools are in place to manage the flow of goods. The successful candidate must have an in-dept understanding of the complete logistics network: distribution, warehousing transportation, pick & pack, inventory control, returns management, and racking and bulk storage.
Responsibilities
„X Manage and lead warehouse staff as well as conduct performance management according to company policies, and provide sustainable team development and training initiatives for staff
„X Plan, organize, direct and control daily operations of the warehouses and facilities while maintaining compliance with ISO ¡V OHSAS ¡V JSOX - CSST requirements
„X Manage all aspects of warehouse logistics via WMS, all related facilities renovations/construction, office renovation, rack systems, energy management system, fire/sprinkler systems and mechanical and electrical systems
„X Ensure inventory and asset integrity
„X Ensure completion of daily productivity reports and monthly KPIs and measure and communicate the warehouse operations progress towards a number of KPIs
„X Participates in development of the yearly business plan
„X Develop and promote total customer satisfaction initiatives
„X Implement cost control and reduce costs wherever possible
„X Interact with customers, suppliers, other Company facilities and departments while developing and maintaining relationships with same
„X Promote a safe working environment through compliance and promotion of H&S policies
Requirements
„X University degree (Economics, Commerce, Logistics/SCM or relevant education)
„X 8+ years of applicable experience within the distribution industry
„X Professional Logistician Certification (Plog) (Logistics Institute) an asset;
„X CITT (Canadian Institute for Traffic and transportation) Diploma and affiliation
„X Strong leadership and people management skills
„X Strong understanding of SAP and warehouse management systems, MS Office environment
„X Expertise in transportation regulations and procedures, inventory control procedures and reports
„X Experienced contract negotiator
„X Knowledge of ISO ¡V OHSAS ¡VJSOX - CSST policies and procedures
„X Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safety programs
„X Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
„X Customer Service Oriented
