I am offering free high quality music lessons (rare and normally very expensive) on this wonderfully complex instrument.. The drum is a crucial instrument in the Javanese gamelan ensemble, being largely responsible for the overall feel of the music, and playing the crucial role of indicating section changes and finales. Learning this instrument is a long term endeavour, involving at least 1 lesson a week, plus rehearsals with the gamlean on Sundays (yes there is a Javanese gamelan in Montreal!) to put it all together.
