Goals: Pure fun. Maybe a gig at some point, but right now, our jams are for fun, a musical workout. If you want to be the next U2, Jonas, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Sufjan, whatever....move on. We're a bunch of working stiffs in our 30's who like having a weekly jam, and have a beer or 2.
Influences: Country-ish/Classic Rock (Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Byrds, Dylan, Neil Young, The Band, countryish Stones, Wilco), Beatles, Soulful stuff, Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison....
We play covers. We like to work 'em through. We're a drummer, bassist, keys/rhythm player, and a lead guitarist who isn't always around as a result of an overseas work committment, but who is still around enough.
Who we're looking for: Someone who sounds like they fit. If you think it's you, you should play guitar (some lead is great). It would be quite nice if you also played keys, bass, or some other instrument. Singing would be a mega bonus. You should also have no career ambitions whatsoever in music (as per the 1st point in this note).
We're looking for someone who wants to be a regular, and help us build chemistry, team player type. No egos please. We don't really care who you know in the industry, how many CD's you've put out in the past, or that this is something you want to do on the side of your more 'serious' musical aspirations.
We ideally like to play Sunday evenings.
If this all adds up for you, drop us a note. A phone # is good. Please describe your story/background in the email.
I've gotten a lot of people in the past who don't read these things, so if it's obvious you haven't read this posting in full, then odds are you won't be getting a call back.
