In a world where women still aren't allowed to drive a car or vote or show their faces in some places
A world where the vast majority of people live on a dollar a day or less
A world where millions of people don't have water to drink or food to eat
A world where multinational corporations are sucking all the juice out of all the titties left in the world
A world where people are still fighting over land that they think "God" gave them
A world where children are sold in to sexual slavery
A world where people still don't admit to themselves that they are a part of a 4 billion year long process called "life"
and think they were created with a special plan and destiny when there are literally billions of other planets orbiting
other suns out there.
A world where we call North "up" and West is on the "left"
A world where sex is an outcast
We should zoom out, because there's no "up" in space.
It takes 4 satellites to tell you where you are.
4 of them are always available to you.
N.S.E.W.
It's winter and summer at the same time. Somewhere.
I think the beauty of western civilization
and civilization in general
is this slow and steady push
by a small, but
increasingly more abundant
group of people who see this world
for what it is, constantly learning, constantly
taking in what experience/science/life teaches
and aren't afraid of rewriting and discarding
longstanding conventions.
This group of people who casts off the shackles
of tradition only to study and accept it for what it is.
This group who pushes for sexual liberty,
intellectual honesty, social harmony,
environmental responsibility,
This group who isn't afraid to rewrite
the history books after spending time
with the losers.
This group is
full of love
in whatever
form love takes.
Open your eyes.
This group is all around you in Montreal.
