Boutique PR fashion and lifestyle firm seeks intern to work with our Montreal office. We represent all sorts of fashion brands from independent, mainstream, and eco designers.
The chosen candidate will be working independently and must be able to accomplish tasks on their own. Intern will work with the owner and account managers in many different aspects of the industry. Interns will learn about project development in film, television, print, and as well as the blogoshpere, along with other fundamental skills important for the fashion PR business.
This is a non-paid internship with possibility of a paid position down the road. We are seeking a motivated person who wants to learn the industry quickly and has a passion for public relations.
The future intern will participate in the writing of all media tools (press kits, press releases, newsletters), and will help to develop and maintain media relations. He/she will be also in charge of clippings and the preparation of client reports. He/she may also answer to the general requests of journalists (visuals, samples, products’ facts sheets…). So our intern must be comfortable on the phone. Prior pr and writing experience is a definite plus!
Key Requirements:
- PR/media relations/communication experience and photoshop/indesign experience an asset
- Knowledge of media is required
- Proper english grammar skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong writing and positioning skills for all press materials, including routine business communications.
- Ability to work quickly and to multitask, and capable of delivering results in a deadline-driven environment
- An intern who is outgoing, self-motivated and a fast learner
- Good computer skills (MS Office tools)
- Internet research, and follow-up
- Maintaining media lists, calendars and databases
- Conducting research and media monitoring
- Assisting with selective pitching of stories to print, online and electronic media
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have an eye and passion for fashion!
- Must be able to commit to 8-16 hours per week.
Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently as well as to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively under time pressure.
