Lonely artist seeks human contact - 25 (plateau)

Date: 2009-11-03, 2:24AM EST

I just moved to Montreal having lived for what feels like years now on the open road. I'm a musician with a day job, who speaks very little french and feels isolated, which is great for my writing, but horribly draining. The fact of the matter is that I stopped smoking pot, and cut way back on my drinking, and I'm finding out that I'm far too neurotic to meet new people unless I have some sort of comfort zone (such as sharing an e-mail or two before we meet.) The strange thing about this, is that once I will completely come out of my shell with the right people, and be an assload of fun!

Standard stuff: I'm tall, slim, attractive, a little weird (Royal Tenenbaums weird, not Eraserhead weird,) and I'm really into reading (mostly graphic novels, or anything by Palanuik or Gaiman,) zombies, cult movies, adventure, intelligent conversation, intelligent conversation about zombies, video games (preferably as a social activity,) and Music. I'm really into music. I play five instruments (which sounds more impressive then it is) and I have a veritable library of rare independent music. I do not listen to the radio or watch tv. I think a great first date is indian food and a rock show. I think a great second date is cooking pancakes, making a zombie escape plan, and watching Dig! while cuddling.

About you: under 30, no kids, no celebrity gossip, no hard drugs. Intellectually stimulating, adventurous, attractive and free thinking are all important. Weirdos, artists, nerds and freaks are all welcome, and not binding yourself exclusively to socially pre-determined gender roles is a bonus.

And if anyone is still interested after all that, send me an e-mail with a little bit about yourself, your interests, your 5-10 favorite musical artists will tell me a lot about you, and a few favorite movies. If you have favorite a video game, you could mention that too. A few favorite things to do in Montreal in the winter would also be helpful.

p.s. That is me in the picture. It was taken about 1 year ago at crash mansion in New York. There is a story to go along with it, but I like to think it's too good for the internet.
