HR & Office Manager - Digital Marketing Agency - Montreal

Opportunity Overview:

Our client is a multi-award winning digital agency based in Montreal. They have an incredible, and growing, list of clients. The growth of their business has created the need for an HR & Office Manager

The majority of the position will involve HR duties; however, due to the nature of this growing business, there will be an important element of Office Management involved too. Quite simply, this is an exciting, varied and challenging role for an ambitious self starter.

The ideal candidate will have a can do attitude, be flexible and be prepared to roll their sleeves up. In addition to this, you must be comfortable working in a highly creative environment and have an understanding of the challenges that this brings.

Requirements of Role:

-Assists the Senior Management team with employee retention and engagement needs
-Provide generalist HR advice to managers and employees in line with employment legislation - ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
-Advise & assist managers with recruitment campaigns - job descriptions, person specifications & interviewing
-Manage the “well being” of the staff
-Manage grievances & investigations, advising on procedure and discipline in line with legislation and company procedure
-Monitor management focus on employee development and improvement
-Responsible for day to day compliance to work place policies
-Manage all areas of the company's office management
-Covers both Montreal and Toronto offices

Primary Responsibilities:

-Assist the Senior Management team on HR strategy and policy
-Build & maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (Directors, Managers & Employees)
-Raise and ensure compliance to discrimination, harassment, bullying, performance management, absence management & employment law polices and requirements
-Keep up to date with employment legislation
-Manage all maternity and paternity leave applications
-Managing absence management and identifying any performance issues relating to illness
-Monitoring, accessing and managing the benefit entitlements for staff
-Managing the employee appraisal process and ensuring all staff receive a comprehensive and effective appraisal
-Identifying external training providers, and managing all administration of all training provided to staff
-Managing all permanent recruitment, work placements and freelancers from advertising and selection through to offer and induction
-Managing the relationship with all suppliers including cleaning contractors and stationery suppliers
-Monitoring and managing the timesheet system
-Continued professional development both academically and practically
-Manage the office - facilities and suppliers.
-Executive Assistance

Desired Qualifications:

-At least three years relevant HR experience
-2 years experience office management experience
-Bilingual a must written and spoken
-MS Office
