Bolidea, a startup technology accelerator located on the Plateau Mont-Royal, is seeking a Ruby developer to participate in the development of an online social network for people working in the arts.
Description:
The candidate will be responsible for:
• Development, testing and documenting new functions and applications.
• Working with a small team using agile methods, to release agreed upon functionality at high velocity.
• Use test driven development, both in code writing and code release.
• Ensure scalable architecture, including the most relevant technologies, to allow rapid growth of the site.
• Evaluating new technology that will allow scalability/growth of the site and making recommendations for adoption.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
• Passion and commitment to developing a leading edge website, working hard and having fun in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
• Good knowledge of Ruby, Rails & JQuery
• Experience with MySQL.
• Experience operating and optimizing a live web site an asset.
• Experience with web architecture an asset.
• Ability to execute projects and find concise, pragmatic, solutions.
• Experience working on small project teams.
