I ordered something from Amazon.ca, and this was included in the box, but I don't really need it.

Essentially it's a WiFi repeater. It plugs right into a wall outlet and does its thing. Let's say you have a Bell WiFi modem downstairs, and the signal won't reach to your top floor? Plug this guy into the wall at the bottom of your stairs, and it'll rebroadcast the signal upstairs. The signal's a bit more powerful than a wifi router.

Please note this isn't a router by itself. You need a router already, this just extends the signal further. This tigerdirect.ca page explains how it works:

It's in the original packaging, but I did open it up once to make sure it works (it does). You'll also notice you're getting a big discount from the retail price. =)
