Large company in Montreal which manufactures lightbulbs in Asia, requires candidate to oversee all aspects of this category.

Job Description

We are currently seeking 2 seasoned, self motivated Product Managers that are committed with a “can do” attitude to join our growing team located in downtown Montreal.

The Product Managers will be responsible for the overall development of product positioning and messaging, development and execution of current and new product launches in the light bulb and battery categories. The successful candidate will be called upon to interface directly and lead the category while working closely with all internal departments, overseas suppliers and customers. You must be able to demonstrate hands-on ability across all areas of the marketing mix, alongside strong analytical skills and a proven track record of with minimum 3 years experience in a similar position, preferably within a consumer goods manufacturer/importer or retailer. This position reports directly to the Vice President.


Responsibilities

• Translate product features into crisp, exciting and compelling marketing presentations
• Develop, launch and bring to market new products.
• Perform competitive analyses.
• Manage and ensure compliance with all relative standards, norms and approvals related to the product category.
• Identify, maintain communication with and participate if possible, with all associations and committees related to the product category.
• Perform competitive analyses.
• Provide content, review marketing presentations, and act as product line spokesperson.
• Finalize all packaging designs and ensure they meet licensee requirements.
• Identify new business opportunities.
• Able to determine pricing strategies, comfort level with numbers.
• Knowledge of designing for manufacturability an asset.
• Develop and manage a marketing strategy/plan.
• Keep management informed on programs, initiatives, successes and results.
• Maintains schedules for marketing activities, tracks expenditures and budgets.
• Coordinates and prioritizes activity through marketing staff and defines requirements, deliverables and timelines. Interacts with sales team, reps, legal, and management to ensure compliance with license agreements.
• Maintain dialogue with sales and team support in development of new products.
• Develops, tracks and manages competitive analyses across all product categories.
• Monitors and maintains marketing budgets including staff requirements.
• Oversee all presentation materials (brochures, catalogues)




Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Energetic, passionate self-starter who is also a team player.
• Out of the box thinker willing to challenge assumptions when required.
• Polished presentation skills.
• Innovative, technically savvy, results-oriented, and quality focused.
• Capable of forward trend merchandising.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must have advanced presentation skills and feel at ease making presentation skills before peers and customers.
• Some packaged goods experience.
• Able to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
• Strong skills in market analysis, definition and roll out of marketing programs, marketing communications and new product launches.
• Degree required
• Able to travel in North America and the Orient,
