Project Manager
Our Client is looking for an intermediate project manager with 3-5 years of project management experience in business related projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a project from initiation to closure. This position will be responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross- functional project oriented work effort and will interact with the individual project sponsors, stakeholders, team leads and the PMO.
Primary Responsibilities;
Overall management of projects, including assignment of team activities and deliverables
Define project approach and monitor project performance (e.g., measures deliverables, milestones, schedule, budget)
Define necessary project team skills and resources
Define and communicate project team structure, including roles & responsibilities
Manage project communications with project sponsors and directors, stakeholders, project team members, the PMO and all other third parties
Define, implement and manage project procedures & controls (e.g., issue mgt., risk mgt., change mgt., review & approval process, documentation mgt., defect mgt.)
Define and manage a detailed business roll out plan
Establish team training and development needs
Provide team member performance feedback
Prepare and present project status/reviews
Requirements;
3-5 years of project management experience within a formal PM environment
Exposure to industry standard methodologies/standards, such as PMI, PMBOK, PRINCE, or similar
Fully proficient with MS Office tools or equivalent
Fully proficient with MS Project
Fully proficient with MS Outlook or equivalent
Strong analytical skills
Strong leadership skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Fully proficient in English and French
Ability to work in a matrix organization
Ability to interpret business needs and have them reflected in the project
Ability to interact with different levels of the organization
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines
Ability to have a strong impact and influence key decisions
Certified or interested in obtaining a certificate from a recognized PM organization is an asset
Work experience in construction, manufacturing or commodities a definite asset
Extensive travel required for first 6 months
