• Must possess a post-secondary degree (AEC, DEP, CEGEP, University)
• Have less than 6 months experience in their field of study
• Be available for full time employment, and be currently unemployed
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or granted refugee status in Canada
• Cannot be in receipt of employment insurance benefits
• Must be available to participate in professional development workshops
• Are not eligible if you have previously participated in an internship program sponsored though the federal government's Youth Employment Strategy
Duties:
- The Teacher will work, with an assistant, in a class with five boys with different developmental delays (Down Syndrome, Aspergers etc). Half the time, the boys will be in the satellite class and the other half they will be integrated into the mainstream class.
- The Teacher will also teach curriculum content for math, English, science etc (with all requirements of the Ministry of Education) and ensure that all client information files are updated regularly). She/he will develop intervention plans in collaboration with an assistant and Mediated Learning Therapist.
