Control subjects and a blood related family member are needed to participate in an Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) study at the Jewish General Hospital.
The study will consist of only one session lasting 1.5 hours maximum.
All that is required by subjects is to fill out a brief diet questionnaire and take a short blood test.
Compensation: Both participants (the control and their relative) will each be compensated 30$ for their involvement in this study.
Recruitment criteria:
Both the participant and their relative must not have Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis.
They may be either male or female
Minimum age requirement: 14 years of age
Research description: The goals of the study are to investigate whether there is a genetic basis to IBD as well as if the illness is related to a vitamin D deficiency.
