I do jailbreak of all model of iphones/ipod touch (ipod 3G is tethered) meaning you have to redo the jailbreak every time you turn it off. Jailbreak removes restrictions from your iphone/ ipod. It allows you to make calls over 3G network using Skype or any other calling app without affecting the minutes of your plan whereas without a jailbreak calls can just be made using wifi, allows you to watch high quality video on 3G, allows you to download free apps from iTunes and you can download any app you want, allows you to customize the looks of your iPhone by using thousand different types of themes, increasing e-mail notification sound volume, having a background image behind icons, allows you to download apps which apple does not allow like cydia apps, thousands of games which are free and better compared to the once in app store. If you take your iPhone/ iPod touch to company's which provide these services charge you around $50 to $60 but I am doing it all in $40.
