Position: Manager, Translation Section, Translation Department, 1 year contract:
Old Montreal
Starting Date: Dec. 2009
Reporting to Translation Department Manager.
Central responsibilities: Putting department procedures in place, guiding 4 personnel, prioritizing decisions for adequate cash flow and profitability, resolve customer complaints.
Examples: (1) Helping the Department Manager get job descriptions, policy and procedures, employee evaluations in place, (2) fine-tuning the division of labour i.e. who manages what projects, (3) assessing, proposing and implementing other solutions for increasing the efficiency of project management, (4) researching, proposing and implementing a translation memory software and translation project management software.
Requirements: Relevant experience managing, Related university degree, Excellent spoken and written French.
Salary: 42 000 $/yr.
Hours: 8:30 to 17:00, minus a 30 minute unpaid lunch, Monday to Friday. 40 hours per week.
Sick leave: 3 days of sick leave and an additional three days accorded to those with children under the age of 12.
Vacation: 4 weeks per year.
The first 3 months will be a probationary period.
