Market Strategy Economist

Our Client is currently recruiting a Market Strategy Economist to assist the three Presidents within the market intelligence division. If you are able to work independently and have strong analytical skills, excellent data/statistical expertise and a strong motivation to learn about global financial markets, you are the candidate we are seeking!


Primary Responsibilities;

• Quantitative analysis of market-related time series data and generation of reports/analysis for senior members of team.
• Work closely with database developers to create and maintain extensive databases of market-related data.
• Analyze the performance of current market strategies using time series data and present findings to senior members.
• Keep up with market developments from an empirical and objective standpoint and assist in the generation of new strategies.
• Monitor the suitability of current strategies to various markets worldwide, determine risk parameters, and suggest improvements.

Requirements;

• University Degree in Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science. Post-Graduate degree preferred.
• Strong motivation to learn about global financial markets.
• Excellent data/statistics skills and experience with statistical software (ie. SAS, SPSS, Stata, Matlab or others)
• Good communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Extremely detailed oriented.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with fluency in English Language.
• Ability to prioritize and respond to quick decisions by applying them to strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
