Position Summary:
Accountant. With 2-4 years of experience reporting directly to the Controller.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
• preparation of required financial data and analysis
• internal audit of systems and books
• documentation of procedures and information flow
• reconciliation of accounts
• Communicate and follow-up with directives and requirements to accounting team
• Liaise with AR and AP personnel to ensure directives/expectations are being followed through.
• Implementation of numerous special projects
• Other Accounting related duties
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
• Shipping industry experience
• Accounting background is required
• Experience in AR / AP functions is required
• Strong computer literary with MS Office applications (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel)
• A high proficiency in excel required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (oral & written),
• Bilingual (English & French) would be an asset
• Accounting systems background would be a plus
• Advanced interpersonal skills
